A fantastic outdoor living museum

4

Beamish, Britain's favourite open air museum, is set in over 300 acres of beautiful countryside.
Step on board trams and be transported into the past. Visit real mines, pits, working towns and railways. Buy sweets at a real olde world shop. This is great for kids learning about history as you can see how real people used to live. Taken from website "The Town represents a typical north eastern market town in the years leading up to the First World War. Trams rattle down the cobbled street, carrying visitors on their journey into the past.

At the west end of The Town is a Victorian park, with ornamental flower beds and a bandstand from Saltwell Park, Gateshead. Brass band concerts are held here on some summer Sundays."
